Jesus once said, "I am the resurrection, and the
life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he
live: and whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die.
Believest thou this?" (John 11:25,26)
Your faith in Jesus' claim and in Him alone as
the Savior of your sinful soul will determine how you continue
to exist. Life begins now, right here and today, for all
who trust in Jesus. Likewise, death and darkness do not
wait until we fall down to physically die and rot. Yet we
tend to go on as fools, as though we will simply live forever,
no matter what.
Our way of thinking in America is twisted around
the most basic human desires. One of the greatest
perversions in our society is the greed that justifies most of
what we do as a nation, and too often as a person. We want
more toys, more power, more stuff.
Wisdom, however, teaches us that we really "need"
only one thing: righteousness with God. If we were to wait
until we could clean up our act and become perfect in God's
eyes, we would all be waiting for ever. Thankfully, God
has seen fit to act for us. While we were still busy with
sinning, God's love and mercy for all people moved Him to give
the greatest sacrifice.
Jesus Christ came into the world to die for lost
sinners. And because He took our place on a Roman death
machine, we now have the opportunity to have eternal life.
God forgives and makes clean and right all who will trust in His
Son.
The fact that Christ has already died in your
place does not mean that you should waste more time doing your
own thing. Make good on God's offer of eternal life.
Go to the Lord now and give Him your rotting life and accept His
gift of genuine and eternal life in Jesus Christ.
See what the Bible says:
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only
begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish,
but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into
the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him
might be saved.
He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he
that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not
believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And
this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and
men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were
evil. For every one that doeth evil hateth the light,
neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.
(John 3:16-20)
My advice? Don't linger in the dark,
waiting for a better time to make things right with God.
Death and the grave — and eternal darkness — waits for every
fool who fails to trust in Christ. Accept God's wonderful
gift now, while you're still breathing. Begin life now and
see the greatness of God's mercy and love for you. You
will never regret trusting Christ as your Savior and Lord.
