There is never really any doubt in anyone's mind that abortion is
anything more or less than the killing of a child. Rights
groups can argue any way they wish, and a woman with child may
want to think of it in some other way, but murder is still
murder.
I do understand that life presents all of us with many
circumstances, and some of them are not really under our control
to the extent we may wish. Young girls and older women may
find themselves in trouble, with a pregnancy that will only
bring trouble. It may even be that carrying a child to
full term could threaten the life of the mother. I
certainly have no right to sit in judgment of anyone who faces
such difficulties.
Allowing God to train and shape our thinking by His truth is the
best way to begin any life, and always the best way to proceed.
If we have sinned, then we must come clean, and be healed.
If we have not yet sinned, then we must find a way to avoid any
sin that will bring harm or injury to another.
Children are innocent. They depend on adults for everything
pertaining to life and health. This is especially true of
the unborn child. Regardless of the choices we may have
made (or the responsibility we have tried to avoid), we must not
add to mistakes by destroying the life of another human being.
God loves all people. He loves moms and dads, even
accidental ones, and He loves the children they conceive.
His gift of life is not meant as punishment for sin, but as a
whole new path of joy and possibility however unexpected it
may be.
All have sinned, the Bible plainly teaches us. None of us
are worthy of the good gifts of God. But such good things
come to us any way. Children and all the new adventures
that come with them are among the very best gifts, the very best
blessings of God that this life has to offer.
Let's admit the truth: A baby is a person. An unborn child
is still a baby. Abortion, regardless of the reasons, is
still the taking of a human life.
